AGM – Council Officers changes

There were changes to council officers voted in at our AGM held on 22nd May 2025.

Our president Thura Win has now stood down having been president since 2009, and having been on the council for almost 30 years. We wish him well on his future endeavours. Thura is here being presented a memento of his service by new president Mike Gardner.

Replacing Thura as President is Mike Gardner, who has served the Association as Chairman for the past 10 seasons, starting in this role in 2016.

Graham Brookland, who will be well known to many from his association with Aldershot Town FC and also as Chief Executive Office of the Army FA steps in as Chairman. Graham has already served on the council for the past 17 years as representative of the Army FA, and more recently as Deputy Chairman.

The Deputy Chairman role has now been filled by Elayne Duddridge. Many will know Elayne through her many years service at Hartley Wintney and more recently on this council as the senior clubs representative.

Our Secretary, Martin Castle, has also decided to stand down after filling the role of Honarary Secretary of the Association for the past 10 years. Martin will remain on the council as a co-opted member, mainly in his role as deputy Benevolent Officer.

Martin is pictured here receiving an award from the Council for his service from President Mike Gardner.

Finally, the role of Secretary of the Association has now been been appointed to Major Steve Clout. Following Martin Castle’s departure Steve was voted in at the AGM – Steve is currently at the Army FA as Assistant Secretary and has been the Army FA’s representative on the Aldershot DFA Council for the past two seasons.

Other officer roles, Minutes Secretary (Chris Douglass), Treasurer (John Marchment), and Competitions Secretary (Richard Whittington) remain unchanged.

All the above officers will be well supported by the Aldershot DFA Council where there exists a wealth of experience in all disciplines of local football. We wish them all well.
