20 year service award – Kierin Gurrie

Aldershot DFA Chairman Mike Gardner presented Kierin Gurrie the “20 Years Service to Football in the ADFA Area” at last week’s Wessex League match between Fleet Spurs and Ash United.

Kierin has been volunteering within local football since 1988 when he joined Fleet Youth FC. He served as a Youth Coach/Manager within various age groups in addition to qualifying as a Referee in 1990. Between 2012 and 2015 he was Chairman of Fleet Spurs Youth.

Between 1995 and 2014 Kierin also managed the Fleet Spurs “A” Team in the Aldershot League and Reserves in the Sydenham Wessex League; he also managed the first team for a short period.

Kierin was also responsible for setting up a midweek floodlit youth section to help player progression. He was Chairman of Fleet Spurs from 2017 through to last season during which time he oversaw the merger of Fleet Spurs and Fleet Spurs Youth.

A great local servant to football we are delighted to present Kierin with the award.
